The Iloilo Province will celebrate its 110th Foundation Anniversary on April 4-11, 2011. The Iloilo Provincial government has prepared series of events for the weeklong celebration of the 2011 Semana sang Iloilo.
This year’s theme is “Kultura nga pinanubli, aton ikabuhi”.
The activities will kick off with an opening program on April 4 (Monday) at the Provincial Capitol lobby to be followed by the ribbon-cutting of Agri-Fair and Exhibits at the Capitol grounds.
In the afternoon of the same day will be the opening of the Food Festival at the Capitol grounds while a Cultural Presentation will be staged in the same venue from 5:30 – 7:30pm.
The next day, April 5, the following are the activities: Disaster Preparedness Seminar, 8:30am - 3pm (5th Floor Conference Room); Memorial Lecture, 9-12 nn (Sta. Barbara); Inter-municipal Folk Dance Competition, 5:30pm-7:30pm (Capitol grounds); Food Festival, 5pm-12mn (Capitol grounds).
Activities on April 6 are: Jobs Fair, 8am-5pm (Capitol grounds); Cooperative Congress, 8am-4pm (5th Floor Conference Room); Food Festival, 5-12mn (Capitol grounds).
April 7: Inter-Floor Games, 8am-5pm (Sports Complex); Hospital Awards and Recognition Program, 8am-12nn (Capitol lobby); Agri-Achievers Awarding, 2-4pm (Capitol lobby).
April 8: Memorial Lectures, 9-11:30am (5th Flr. Conf. Room); Parade of Festivals, 2:30-5pm (Freedom Grandstand to Capitol).
On April 10, there will be a Semana Marathon from the Capitol grounds to the Iloilo Sports Complex starting 5:30am.
The last day, April 11, will be dubbed as Employees Family Day where various fun activities will be held at the Iloilo Sports Complex Covered Gym from 8am to 4pm.
The weeklong celebration will be capped by a Fellowship Night at the Capitol lobby starting 7pm.
